Overview: This foundational course is designed for humanitarian workers to establish a "Security Mindset." Unlike commercial security, NGO security relies on the principles of Acceptance and Neutrality. This course provides the essential vocabulary and conceptual framework needed to work safely in the field.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Differentiate between the three pillars of security: Acceptance, Protection, and Deterrence.

• Identify common threats and vulnerabilities specific to the Jordanian and regional context.

• Apply Situational Awareness techniques during field visits.

• Understand their individual role in the organization’s "Duty of Care" framework.

Course Content:

1. The Humanitarian Context: How our principles (Neutrality, Impartiality, Independence) serve as our primary shield.

2. Risk Assessment Basics: Introduction to the Risk Matrix (Impact vs. Probability).

3. Personal Awareness: Developing the "Habit of Observation" to detect threats early.

4. Reporting Protocols: How and when to report security incidents to ensure team safety.

Overview: The HEIST program is our flagship 4‑day intensive residency, designed to reshape how humanitarian staff perceive and respond to high‑risk environments. More than a classroom course, HEIST immerses participants in demanding, real‑time simulations that build the muscle memory and psychological resilience essential for frontline operations in conflict zones.
Integrated Field First Aid
At the heart of HEIST is specialized Field First Aid. We go beyond basic bandaging to focus on Trauma Care in Hostile Settings. Participants learn to stabilize life‑threatening injuries—such as blast trauma, gunshot wounds, and severe bleeding—using tactical medical equipment when professional help may be hours or even days away.

•     Survival Instincts: Immediate actions for active shooter incidents, shelling, kidnapping, and IED threats.
•     Tactical Medicine: Mastery of the DMARCH protocol:
•     D – Danger: secure the scene
•     M – Massive bleeding: control catastrophic hemorrhage
•     A – Airway: establish and maintain airway
•     R – Respiration: support breathing, treat chest injuries
•     C – Circulation: manage shock, maintain perfusion
•     H – Head‑to‑toe assessment / Hypothermia prevention
•     Navigation & Communications: Safe operations in remote areas using GPS, radio protocols, and satellite technology.
•     Stress Mastery: Building psychological resilience to make life‑saving decisions under extreme duress.

Overview: In the field, the first few minutes following an injury are the most critical. This one-day, hands-on workshop is designed to provide humanitarian staff with the essential skills to stabilize a casualty until professional medical help arrives. Using the DMARCH medical framework, we strip away the complexity of medical jargon and focus on the high-impact actions that save lives.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this one-day training, participants will be able to:

• Assess a scene for safety before providing medical aid.

• Identify and treat life-threatening bleeding using modern tools (Tourniquets and Hemostatics).

• Maintain an open airway and assist a non-breathing casualty.

• Manage common field injuries such as fractures, burns, and heatstroke.

• Coordinate an emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) and provide a clear casualty report.

Overview: Humanitarian access is the lifeblood of aid, yet it is often the greatest challenge. This 2-day course is designed for senior field staff and access officers who must navigate complex political and security landscapes to reach vulnerable populations. We focus on gaining access through Acceptance and Principled Negotiation.

Learning Objectives:

• Stakeholder Mapping: Identifying influencers, gatekeepers, and armed actors in your area of operation.

• The Three Pillars of Access: Balancing Acceptance (community trust), Protection (security protocols), and Deterrence (visible safety measures).

• Principled Negotiation: How to negotiate with hostile actors while strictly adhering to Neutrality, Impartiality, and Independence.

• Managing Red Lines: Identifying non-negotiable boundaries to protect the organization’s reputation and safety.

• Deconfliction Mechanisms: Technical mastery of notification systems and safe movement coordination (OCHA standards).
